Before arrival

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 4 PM and check-out is before 11 AM.

Earlier arrival or later departure may be possible on request, depending on other bookings. For night flights, we offer luggage storage at the villa after check-out, so you can enjoy your last day on the island.

Do you organise airport transfers?

Yes, we organise transfers to and from SSR (Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam) airport. About 1h15 trip, with an English-speaking driver, in a recent air-conditioned vehicle.

Rate: €50 for La Flamboyante, €60 for Le Secret du Clos (up to 4 people, possible supplement for minivan or large luggage). Night flights: no supplement.

Do I need a visa to enter Mauritius?

For citizens of the UK, EU, US, Canada, Australia: no visa required for tourist stays under 90 days.

A passport valid 6 months after return date is sufficient, plus a return ticket and proof of accommodation (which we provide). For other nationalities, check with the Mauritius embassy.

What is the best time to visit Mauritius?

Mauritius can be visited year-round. Our favourite periods:

April to June: mild, dry, fewer crowds, ideal prices. October-November: tropical spring, gentle prices before high season. December to March: hot and humid summer, cyclone season but cyclones rare in the north. July-September: cool and windy on the east, perfect on the west for snorkelling and diving.

Is cleaning included? How often?

A final cleaning is included. For stays over 5 nights, a mid-stay cleaning with linen change is offered.

On request, you can add daily cleaning (€70/day) or occasional cleaning. Our team is discreet and works at times that suit you.

Is there secure parking at the villa?

Yes, both villas have private parking.

Le Secret du Clos is in the secure Clos du Littoral neighbourhood in Grand Baie, with private entrance and parking in the garden for 2 vehicles. La Flamboyante is in the Domaine de la Laurada residence, with a 24/7 guard and dedicated parking.

Is air conditioning in every room?

A/C is in all bedrooms of both villas. Living areas are cooled by ceiling fans and natural air circulation, sufficient for the Mauritian climate.

Note that nights in Mauritius are cooler than you might imagine — many guests prefer to sleep with windows open.

Is the pool private and heated?

Each villa has its private pool for exclusive guest use. They are not heated as water temperature stays pleasant year-round (24–28°C / 75–82°F).

Maintenance (chemicals, filtration, cleaning) is done weekly outside your presence so as not to disturb you.

Is Wi-Fi reliable for remote work?

Yes, both villas have fibre optic with comfortable speed for video calls, 4K streaming and remote work. Le Secret du Clos also has a dedicated workspace in one bedroom.

For long remote-work stays, a local unlimited 4G SIM card (€5/month) can be arranged.

How far are the beaches?

Le Secret du Clos is 5 min by car from Pereybère beach and 7 min from Trou aux Biches, two of the finest beaches in the north.

La Flamboyante is 8 min walk from Pointe aux Piments beach, and 15 min by car from the larger Trou aux Biches and Mont Choisy beaches.

Family & pets

Are children welcome?

Of course! Le Secret du Clos is particularly family-friendly: 3 bedrooms, 5 guests, secure garden, private pool. Baby cot and high chair on request. We can also recommend a trusted babysitter on-site.

La Flamboyante reste plutôt destinée aux couples (1 chambre, 2 personnes). Notre fille Rose est mauricienne — autant dire que les enfants sont chez eux ici.

Are pets allowed?

Pets are unfortunately not allowed in our villas. This is due to both the residence rules (Domaine de la Laurada in particular) and respect for all our guests, especially those with allergies.

For info, importing pets to Mauritius is highly regulated and requires several months of procedures.

Services & concierge

Should I rent a car?

We strongly recommend it to fully enjoy the island. Left-hand driving, but most foreign licences are accepted for 4 weeks and adaptation takes 30 minutes.

Expect €30–40/day for a city car. Our partners Sixt and Local Motors deliver directly to the villa. Otherwise, our drivers (€60–80/day) are an excellent alternative.

Do you offer a private chef or grocery delivery?

Yes, on request. We work with several private chefs for Creole, Mediterranean or fine-dining dinners. Indicative price: €80–150 per person all inclusive (shopping, preparation, service, cleaning).

Groceries can also be delivered on arrival for a welcome basket or self-catering stay (quote on request).

What other services do you offer?

In-villa massage, babysitter, pro photographer, diving/kitesurf/paddle equipment rental, private catamaran or speedboat excursions, romantic beach dinners, birthday and celebration organisation.

Booking & payment

How does payment work?

For direct booking: un acompte de 30 % est demandé à la confirmation, le solde est dû 30 jours avant l'arrivée. Paiement par virement bancaire ou par carte (lien sécurisé Stripe).

Une caution non encaissée de 500 à 1 000 € est demandée à l'arrivée selon la villa. Pour les réservations via Airbnb, les conditions sont celles de la plateforme.

What is the cancellation policy?

For direct booking:

– Free cancellation up to 60 days before arrival (full refund)
– Between 60 and 30 days: 30% retention
– Less than 30 days: 100% retention

We strongly recommend cancellation insurance when booking your flights. Exceptional cases (force majeure, cyclone) handled fairly.

Are there hidden fees or extra taxes?

No. The direct-booking price includes final cleaning, linen, welcome amenities, pool maintenance, Wi-Fi and all utilities (water, electricity, A/C).

Only extras: airport transfers (optional), à la carte services (chef, daily cleaning, babysitter…) and the non-cashed deposit.
